How cards are loaded and redeemed
This is to be used as a guide only. Each EFTPOS Terminal differs slightly. If your steps to load or redeem a card do differ, please write down the exact process you have to follow to load or redeem a card on your EFTPOS Terminal.
Loading cards
If you are a Load Up Store in the Swan Hill Gift Card Program, follow these steps to load your Gift Cards:
Select “Refund” from the menu selection in your EFTPOS Terminal
a. You may be prompted for a password, merchant PIN or merchant Card. The password / merchant PIN / merchant Card is for the EFTPOS terminal and is not related to the Gift Card. Please contact your EFTPOS Provider if you do not know your password, have your merchant PIN or don’t have a merchant Card, or the “Refund” option is not available.
Swipe the Gift Card through your EFTPOS terminal
Select the amount you want to load to the card (e.g. $50.00)
Enter the 4 digit PIN for the Gift Card (located on back of card)
Transaction will process and a receipt will be issued
Write the load amount and expiry date (3 years from load up date) on the back of the card
If you have integrated EFTPOS with your internal point of sale system, please phone Justin at WLT Promotions on 0418 945 163 for assistance on creating a sales code for the gift cards
Redeeming Cards
Redemptions are processed the same way as any normal savings EFTPOS transaction, using the PIN located on the back of the card. These steps are for Load Up AND Redemption stores.
Swipe the Gift Card through the EFTPOS Terminal as you would a normal card
Select “Savings” account
Enter the total amount to be used from the Gift Card (e.g. $19.95)
Ask the card holder to enter the 4 digit PIN (located on back of card)
The transaction will process as per normal and a receipt will be produced
Write the remaining balance on the back of the card
